It's Not Wasting, It's Fearing.

We all know there is one resource available to us that is non-renewable – Chronological Time. Once passed, it's gone forever.

This truth has born a lot of discussion, theory and advice about how to use our time; or, more often, how to not waste our time. Helpful advice, when it’s taken and used in its intended context.

But, sometimes this fear of wasting time has become the greatest excuse for not creating, expanding or exploring. For not testing the invisible psychological barriers, that stand between us and our deepest desires, we have become conditioned to believe.

We refuse to test, trial and seek, under the belief that what we are about to move into will not be successful – it won’t work out anyway – therefore is a waste of our time. This is not a conscious decision to honour our time – this is one of the greatest excuses we use to avoid disappointment or failure.

If only we could be certain – that the date turns into a great love story, interview becomes a promotion, connection creates a client, health plan transforms our body, extra study expands our career path, coaching transforms us and our lives… etc.

If we could just be sure, then we wouldn’t be wasting our time. But, how is stepping into these situations ever wasting time?

How is learning more about ourselves - our skills, strengths and talent a waste of time? How is cultivating more courage; broadening knowledge; or strengthening our emotional and physical core a waste of time? How is connecting with other humans, our greatest teachers, a waste of time?

And, if the situation does not unfold as we’d hoped, is it worth the lesson (growth) along with the strengthening of resilience?

Is it possible to waste time? Absolutely! But this is not how we do it. We know exactly how and when we ‘waste’ time.

Recently, due to overwhelm, I found myself wasting time. It was more pleasant to scroll mindlessly through social media, disappear down the rabbit hole of the internet, sleep-in too late or find simple (non-valuable) tasks to do rather than face my to-do list.

Thus, the One Hour to Personal Power was created! One hour per day to breathe, journal, stretch, gain clarity around my next 24 hours – to do whatever I wish. There is only one rule – it must be for me and me only. And, I am thrilled that some gorgeous souls of our community have made the decision to join me. The thing I love the most is they are doing what is best for them – some do not turn up every day, most do not stay for the entire hour. They are drinking tea in bed, (parked) in their cars, walking to the train or on their way to yoga class. Dedicating between 5 minutes (yes - we had someone jump in for 5 minutes and reported back it was beneficial to her day - only 5 minutes!) and one hour to themselves. We will be doing this until the 30th May. If you’d like to join in you are more than welcome - CLICK HERE for more info.

If not, thank you for reading and have a fabulous day.
